The Purpose of Purpose

Writer's picture: Sam McReeSam McRee

The physical universe has a spiritual reflection - every physical object manifests an etheric body, an etheric form. The consciousness, the intelligence of that etheric form makes up what would be called the spirit of any given thing - be it a person, place, or thing. This makes for many spirits, and these spirits, together, make up what is called as the spirit world.

There are two sides to the spirit world. On one side, there is an organization of all the spirits, all working together, harmoniously, towards a common purpose and goal. As with any organization, there is a director, or a spirit which is ultimately in charge, and there are many spirits working in accordance with the direction of this “spirit in charge.” The pattern is like this, there are many spirit’s in charge, these operate like a sun within a solar system, or the gravitational center, be it made up of super-massive blackholes or many suns, at a galaxies center. The spirit in charge of a solar system, or a galaxy, or a universe, is a soul that is completely at one with the ultimate spirit which is in charge of all. But it has to get stepped down, into various systems, of various sizes, for various reasons and purposes. The main difference between the spirit in charge of something like our solar system and that of the entire universe, or the whole of creation and existence, is just in available power, energy, and consciousness. This would lead to the logical conclusion that the spirit in charge of the entire existence is the greatest, most powerful, and stupendous being of all - and, in a manner of thinking, it is. But that isn’t the whole story, because the greatness of a leader is nothing without the greatness of their nation, business, or organization. The existence as a whole is greater than the leader of the existence. This was missed by many monothesistic religions. They thought the greatest thing in the universe was the creator of the universe, but actually it is the universe itself. The Created is greater than the Creator.

The entire existence, physical and spiritual alike, good and bad alike, all taken together, the sum total of all that is and is not, that is the ultimate reality, and, as it is with all things in the universe, there is a etheric body to this ultimate reality, a spirit to it. It would not be wrong to call this, “The Great Spirit,” and perhaps this is what early Christians meant by the Holy Ghost. It is the greatest, most ultimate, and powerful thing, and yet it is nothing without each of its parts all playing out their own purpose and plan.

All of the Beings who seek to align themselves with the ultimate whole are working with a network of countless other Beings of various levels of intelligence and skill, who, together, form what has been called “The Spiritual Hiearchy,” within esoteric traditions, because all these beings seek to execute the plan which gets passed down by the so-called “Spirit in Charge.” Likewise, there is also a side to the Spirit world, and the Physical world, which has no interest in being a part of this Great Plan. This is what has been called the lower astral plane, or the realm of dark spirits, and it is manifest in our physical world wherever you see beings who act without respects to, or without accordance to, the overall harmony and well-being of the plan, which is to create a whole that is greater than any individual component. These lower spirits are, of course, also a part of the plan. The totality of existence would not be what it is without it. What purpose might they have? They have the purpose of giving beings within the spiritual hiearchy a purpose, and what is the purpose of having a purpose? Purpose is what gives any individual being, regardless of their affiliations, their individuality. Without a purpose, the integrity of an individual structure disintegrates. Without purpose, the universe could not exist.
